Burak Demirtas brings a unique global perspective and deep empathy to his practice at Bowie Law. After earning his law degree in Europe and a master’s degree in international Trade Law, where his research focused on the Singapore Convention on Mediation, Burak practiced corporate and commercial law. He also dedicated three years to advocating for vulnerable clients in family law disputes through Legal Aid Istanbul.

Upon moving to Alberta, Burak completed his credentials at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Law in 2025 to qualify for practice in Canada. As a Student-at-Law, he focuses on family law, utilizing his warm, approachable nature and strong conflict-resolution skills to guide clients through complex and high-conflict disputes with confidence.

When he is not in the office, Burak enjoys giving back by coaching chess to children, spending time in nature, and planning his next road trip as part of his ultimate mission to visit every town in Canada.
